A few weeks ago, we received an email from a Masters player from California. Jerry Breen was asking for our help publicizing a new performance supplement he had been developing and testing with the USA National Mens team over the past 2 years. He wanted to do the first public release to the water polo community to give water polo a performance edge.
Supplements are not my thing but after speaking with Jerry, I agreed to look at his product and see if there was anything we could do to help, contingent on my trying them first. Three days after starting ProAnox, I felt like a new person. My workouts doubled in length and intensity and I had no soreness afterwards. I had vastly improved energy and concentration. Why did you decide to create an anti oxidant based performance supplement?
I am a 50 year old extreme athlete still trying to compete young. I have various sport related injuries that I deal with everyday. I was addicted to Ibuprohen thinking it was helping me but the clinical studies I read about Ibuprohen were alarming. I was introduced to the Muscadine by a scientist and noticed profound effects on inflammation, soreness, energy, endurance and more. I then broke down the phenolic compounds, isolated the ones with positive clinical studies primarily on athletes and created a super charged Natural Muscadine Antioxidant System for athletes. Without giving out proprietary information, what are the key ingredients?
Proanox is based on the Muscadine grape (Resveratrol, Querciten, Elagic Acid) just some of the many hundred natural phenolics present, more powerful antioxidants than Acai or Pomegranate. We added highly absorbent pure natural sources of a number of antioxidants like Ibiquinol Coenzyme Q 10 (CoQ10), an important heart and muscle antioxidant. Another important component is Glutathione Optimizing System which is depleted during exercise. Looking at the literature, you spent a lot of money sourcing all your ingredients with US grown organics that are pesticide free and certified Nutraceutical. Couldn’t you have reduced the products cost by using products from China like everyone else?
I wanted a safe product I could take myself, give my kids, friends and teammates. China does most of the production for the supplement market but they use pesticides and there is little if any government regulation so you have no idea what by-products are in them. Some overseas factories do runs for supplement ingredients on the same line used to process fertilizer. That just completely turned me off so I decided to develop my own and source ll possible the ingredients in the US. There is less profit but my goal has always been safety first.
You’re in your (early) 50’s and have been taking ProAnox for a couple of years. What benefits have you seen?
Health wise feel like I am in my 30's, more energy, vibrant, wake up alert, happy and simply just feel younger in all age related categories. I also know my immune system is stronger. Even when my own kids bring sickness home from school, I have not been ill since taking it. No more Advil either.
