Interesting. I think Dana Hills is entered in the SB Tournament this weekend. The original schedule has them playing San Marcos today at 5. I wonder if DH split their team and sent the better half to SB.

Thanks for clearing that up, rswpds. Renegades looked great and really stepped up this past weekend.

Is the same true for the 18u team?

Re: 2017 USCC - June 30-July 2 (B), July 7-9 (G) in San Diego

16u Semifinal Results: LA Premier 7: Trojan 6 Shores won in the shootout vs Renegades. Great showing by the Renegades by getting to the semis and playing for 3rd. They are the 7th seed from the SOPAC zone. I am pretty sure Renegades have some imports playing for them, too. Definitely heard some Sla...

Re: 2017 NJO Qualification Tournaments

I can answer question one definitively. I am not sure about the second: If a team calls for a timeout without possession of the ball, including when neither team has possession, a penalty is awarded to the other team and the team calling for the timeout loses one of their timeouts. (There is some un...

Re: 2017 NJO Qualification Tournaments

I watched a few of the games at Beckman yesterday. There were some bad calls - there always are. There were very good coaches on the deck - they were working the refs just like all good coaches do (see Gregg Popovich for reference). The water polo was being played at a very high level and it was exc...

Re: 2016 Boys Water Polo All CIF

Per the CIF guidelines a coach or coach’s representative from each school must be present to nominate and vote. Coaches may not send their nominees with other coaches or representatives from other schools. Thanks for the clarification. The rule doesn't make much sense to me, but it is now clear tha...

Re: 2016 Boys Water Polo All CIF

Heard he wasnt at the meeting because he confused the day it was on. Info is published in the season preview, playoff bulletin, posted on the CIF Website and emailed to all the athletic directors. Hard to believe that he was confused on the date. Pretty weak to punish players because the coach didn...

Re: 2016 Boys Water Polo All CIF

I know it's always been this way, but the process seems flawed. If a team reaches a final, they should reserve 2-5 spots on the 3 All-CIF teams. In the day and age of Skype, Facetime, cell phones, email, it seems petty to punish the kids because of a coach's mistaken. Agreed. At JOs, teams get allo...

Re: 2016 Boys Water Polo All CIF

So in Division 3 Oaks gets 4 players which I understand but Aliso gets two? Seriously? The runner up get the same as the semi final teams like Poly (2) and REV (2). Unreal. Look at division 5. I think San Juan Hills was the runner up and they have ZERO players on the first team. Not sure the proces...
