Re: 2023 Season
Princeton will be in the top 4 at some point this year and make the semi final. Heard it here first. Another "ignorance is bliss" moment. Princeton will look great until they head west. This year coaches won't overlook them and will prepare. I see a lot of payback coming their way. Maybe ...

Re: Ho Hum: US Women Beat Italy in Semifinal
Yes that's for sure. The rest of the world is catching up, or has pretty much caught up. Same thing that happened in soccer, I suppose.

Incredible how 100 years of tradition just collapsed in 1 week. Yes I do realize it started more than 1 week ago, but still, it's crazy

Re: Top Boys' and Girls' Clubs in 2023
11. 680 – 15. 680 received all of its points in the Junior Olympics 12u and 14u age groups, finishing third in both age groups. I included 680 in my list because they didn’t participate in the Club Championships. If they had, 680 might have finished as high as No. 4 in my list and probably would fi...

Re: Why does UCLA get to represent USA at the WUG?
What exactly are the guidelines or requirements for each country to form their teams from. For example the Greek team that USA just played againts, where are those Greeks picked from? Is the name "World University Games" misleading, as to where countries pick their players from?

Re: Why does UCLA get to represent USA at the WUG?
My understanding is USAWP doesn't really "care" about this tournament, so they ask if any of the colleges "want" it with the assumption that the school/team pays for it and only take American players. Hence, why the heavy foreign schools don't send teams. If no school takes the ...

Re: 2023 Girls Junior Olympics
Patriot 12U girls is the most dominant team at JO’s. According to some 12u parents, Patriots girls were very dominant two years ago as a 10u girls team. They were 10:0 (?) at the half of the finals game in 2021 ( which they won something like 20:2) in part due to talent, in part due to discrepancie...

Re: 2023 Girls Junior Olympics
Not sure why anyone would have the impression that Patriot is barely staying afloat. They have exceptional coaches at nearly every age group and families who are loyal to the club, coaches, and each other. I can see where retention at the older age groups could be a problem, but the fact that they ...

Re: JO reflection
The worst JOs experience is not inconsistent refereeing, over the top physicality, or questionable coaching behavior. All this occasionally takes place but this somehow does not overshadow the joy of watching a fun game. What really bothers me is pretty common, but not universal of course, ugliness...

Re: 2023 Girls Junior Olympics
Let me clarify. Historically speaking when looking at national championship club water polo, these events have pretty much been dominated by the clubs that draw from very wide areas. It has not been uncommon to see players travel from long distances on a weekly basis to play for a dominant regional...

Re: 2023 Junior Olympics
The 2023 JO's were filled with so many exciting high level games in all age groups. And the local media is virtually non existent with a national tournament in their own back yard. Very unfortunate. Good point. You could have a game at the high school accross the street and have no clue what is goi...

Re: 2023 Girls Junior Olympics
What happened to Laguna Beach? In the JOs before COVID hit, they were top 2 in both 14/12. Now nowhere to be found. Guess their loss is Newport's gain. Covid really messed up Laguna Beach girls. Apparently the city was very strict to let them use the pool and even train on the beach and in the ocea...
