Re: College All-Star Teams by the Decades

Great job on putting all these names together. Fantastic record keeping and memory. Only criticism is lack of diversity of great players on non Big 4 schools who missed mention. Lots of these folks didn't get spotlighted and didn't go past college. No ones fault - but a reality of not playing on a w...

Re: Vargas Announces Retirement

I know Leyson has been mentioned but I think he is still getting overlooked as one of the best coaches in the country. I am not sure he would want to leave the program that he has built over at UC Davis but reflecting on his career so far it is hard to ignore him as a candidate. His family of young...

Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament

Leyson for National Coach of the Year. Winning a natty with all the resources isn’t great coaching. Great point that is too often overlooked. No, they are not "mutually exclusive", but resources can cover up for a lot of bad coaching. You see it all the time. Especially at the lower level...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?

While the USC water polo program definitely benefited from Vavics actions there will not be any penalties against the school, dept, or team. The cases involving the tennis program at Yale, soccer program at UCLA, and sailing program at Stanford are long closed and no action was taken by the NCAA. U...

Re: 2021 Season

Just an FYI...it's not a nightmare when so much money is coming their way,...regardless. It's a nice place to be...believe me. SCU has a lovely campus in the middle of Silicon Valley. Graduates are exposed to everything the Valley has to offer. Undergrad enrollment is 5500-6000. Small class sizes. ...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?

Everyone knew for years that USC was either gaming the system or cheating. How do you get so many recruits, foreigners included with only 4.5 equivalency spots a year. It made no economic sense for the kids to go there unless there was some support included. Other coaches couldn't figure it out eith...

Re: US Men’s Head Coach Hot Board

Excellent point - all coaches look great with a talented crop of kids.
The best coaches are those that develop, train and motivate even those kids that are not gifted with above average athletic ability.

Some announcing they now won't compete, others are announcing they new will compete. Meanwhile, club teams all over California are in the water doing, at a minimum, distancing practices. College coaches can't get their athletics dept and universities behind these boys, but the local high school clu...

"Matter not" - except for the fact that a whole bunch of kids finally got to play the sport they love after months and months of not being allowed to compete. Teammates got a chance to once again play with, and for, each other and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from healthy competition. ...
