Re: San Diego Girls 2021-22
Looks like La Jolla is the last team standing. I'm sure they're a bit disappointed not to have another crack at Carlsbad. Great effort by Bishop's. It is a special senior class. Anyone want to give next year's way-too-early rankings? Here's mine: 1. Bishop's - still dominant, but not quite as domina...

Re: 2021-22 CIF SS Div 1
And just saw that Campolindo Head coach also retiring after 10 yrs Another long time water polo coach is apparently also retiring after many excellent years at an OC high school, but will wait to confirm on this one. Want to make sure it's not just a rumor. I have heard this too. I’m sure it will b...

Re: San Diego Girls 2021-22
Bishop's pulled out a great win last night. Don't think they will get past Newport Harbor, but still a great win for a legit group of seniors (and jrs). Congratulations to Bishop's That is a very solid win over Foothill. I had a feeling that they would pull this one out, especially since many of th...

Re: San Diego Girls 2021-22
Interesting season all the way around and nice to see a somewhat normal schedule back in place. Hats off to LCC making it to the second seed in open division considering they were in D3 2 years ago and D2 last year. That's a lot of progression for a team with only one active club player. Let's see ...

Re: San Diego Girls 2021-22
No. 1 Bishop's vs. No. 8 Valhalla. Valhalla gets the dubious honor of the No. 8 seed in Open as opposed to the No. 1 seed in D1. Congratulations, but barring a global catastrophe, it's one-and-done for Valhalla. Your comments about Valhalla getting the “honor” of being 1st round fodder for Bishop’s...

But the shrinking of a summer season is a concern
Yeah, just think it's a weird result that you can age out of 12u after two years and still not be 12 years old at your last JO's.

Re: JO dates keep drifting to mid July
Just a question. Ten years ago, 2012 JO took place from July 28-31 for boys and August 2-5 for girls. The dates for 2022: July 16-19 for boys and July 21-24 for girls. Why not to make an adjustment every 5-6 years? If the dates continue drifting like this we will have the JO in June soon :) This dr...

Re: Dream Scenario?
But put a big-name coach at Long Beach State or someplace similar and I think you might see players slide over there to take advantage, You mean like a Dan Klatt at UCI or a Gavin at LB? or Coralie at Sonoma? Or Natalie at Marist? We have years of examples of accomplished National Team coaches, alb...

In my experience, it’s more fun to win a lower division than it is to get dismantled in a higher division, especially if it means playing a week or two longer

Re: San Diego Girls 2021-22
Tough weekend for the two San Diego schools on OC this weekend. Was thinking that Bishop’s might have an upset or two in them. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in Bishop's this year. They have a stacked roster, but I guess one or two weaknesses is all it takes against the top OC teams. They're ...
