Re: Fisher Cup 2022
Never really give the Fisher Cup a second thought. Just one of the first minor competitions that help to build towards the next fall season.

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
I still completely believe that both the men's and women's water polo teams should NOT have been allowed at any time of the NCAA tournament. This past weekend's finals with USC playing was not right for the other schools that play by the rules. When other sports have their coaches do anything again...

Re: Question: Head underwater
As was explained to me a few decades ago when I was starting out from a referee I respect...."The game is played above the water. If a player takes themselves underwater to get an advantage they're no longer playing the game as it was intended. Don't reward their bad play by punishing the defe...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
Anyone who thinks that the NCAA is gonna punish USC or any other school is fooling themselves. At this point they’re terrified that they’re gonna lose control of the revenue sports through the NIL, there’s a football player at Pitt being enticed to transfer for a $3m payday. The CFP is saying they ...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
I saw that Vavic was saying the jury verdict should be set aside but I can't see any more details as I don't have access to Law360. Does anyone have access?

Re: GUILTY - How much Prison time for Jovan - Poll***
Why is everyone using Wilson as some sort of yardstick to "guess" how much hard time Jovan is going to do? Wilson was charged with only one incident while Jovan was involved in many more unless I am missing something. Seems to me we should be using what Singer might get as he has yet to b...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
Interesting that recent penalties for USC (was it basketball?) for a coach taking bribes for entry were a combination of self imposed exclusion from post season and mainly a fine. However, this seemed very different as the coach took cash directly and nothing went to the program and presumably there...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
Quote from JV’s lawyer- His lawyers maintained Vavic never lied, never took a bribe and argued he was a victim of USC's desire to cover up a "pervasive culture" of accepting wealthy students who could provide donation windfalls. Apart from the cash for the program and school fees for his ...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
The Stanford sailing coach got off minimally because he pled guilty and they were able to confirm that all of the money was deposited into the sailing club account. He did not personally benefit. I don't think Jovan is in the same situation. He took school fees for his kids. Straight forward bride ...

Re: Predictions for 2022
I get that many people think there are too many foreigners in college water polo, and therefore too few opportunities for talented but not elite US high school players to move on to college water polo. Is there any evidence that this problem is worse in water polo than in other sports? What are the...

Re: GUILTY - How much Prison time for Jovan - Poll***
Is it just my imagination or was Michael Randazzo once a better writer? Predicting the sentence of a convicted felon (assuming the verdict is not reversed on appeal) is a common practice. I don't see anything "ghoulish" or "repulsive" about it. And how does he know that " m...

Re: Where in the World is Jovan?
The bribe money was paid to the water polo fund at USC. The money helped the program. If it was just that, he might of had an argument. I contend that the paying of his kids tuition at Loyola is what did him in. He accepted the cash in exchange for fraudulently admitting athletes. That is still a c...

Re: GUILTY - How much Prison time for Jovan - Poll***
What a joke of an article, Randazzo must have a soft spot for Lance Armstrong too. That article is embarrassing It was very strange. The writer says justice was done but seems to hate that it was. The writer also doesn't know what irony is. "Ironically, Wilson’s son was admitted to Southern Ca...
