Davis lost a great one. Those are some huge shoes to fill. His name has been synonymous with the UC Davis women’s program since it’s inception.

Re: Cal State Fullerton

Did Fullerton have polo in the past and drop it, or is this a totally new program? Yes. D2 back in the day. Interesting. I assumed it was D1 back then. Ken Lindgren was the coach before he went to LBS and even led them to the NCAA tournament on two occasions. Fullerton dropped water polo after the ...

Not a big deal, but you have the two Flynn sisters reversed.

Re: Coaching Carousel

My feeling is that for UC Santa Barbara, UCI and UCD one must have at least 3.4-3.5 GPA as a water polo athlete to sail through the admissions. Yes, the absolute requirement is a 3.0 but I doubt that many water polo players get in with GPA that low. I thought that for UCLA and Cal, one needs a litt...

Re: 2023 Season

I think that USC will be the favorite next year and will beat Stanford for the Championship in 2023. Losing Makenzie Fischer is an absolute gigantic loss. Not only is she one of the top scorers in the NCAA, but she is also the best defensive player. I think that UCLA will edge out Cal for #3. Stanfo...

Re: Coaching Carousel

With Covid affecting roster sizes, large budget schools can continue to build their rosters while others might not have the money to do the same thing. Yes, the extra COVID year enabling some players to play a 5th year and the Olympic postponement really created a log jam at some of the schools. I ...

Re: Coaching Carousel

SwimCoach, I wasn't necessarily saying he is better coach (although personally I feel he is or else he wouldn't be in the position he is now with the Olympic team.) I was defending him as a recruiter. His coaching ability is stellar but to say, "but how, exactly, is he better at “coaching” and...

Re: Coaching Carousel

Exactly, goes to show you how much better at 'coaching' and developing, Dan Klatt is, over any of the "top 4' coaches. I think that Klatt is a very good coach, but how, exactly, is he better at “coaching” and developing over any of the other “top 4” coaches? Neither Stanford nor UCLA had a sin...

For what it is worth, here is another vote for Addison McGrath. I know that jeff takes their entire careers into consideration, but I think that she was a better college player than Gao. In fact, I think that she was the best player to ever play at ASU.

Re: Coaching Carousel

With Benson as the head coach, ASU would be in the NCAA semifinals or finals within four years Genuine question - why do you think this? What advantage does ASU have over say a UCI? Klatt is an excellent coach, an Olympian, and Nat'l team assistant and he hasn't been able to accomplish this; in par...
