Is this a coaches run poll? - who is on the polling committee out of curiosity?

So a "down year" for a legitimate D1 Pepperdine is "only" #10 in current rankings.

A "down year" for USC is going below .500 but still making it to the D1 National Championship game and coming within a goal of eventual winner UCLA. That with Olympians Daube and Vavic busy in Tokyo and the other USA WP Senior Team member Molthen also not available.

The polls are just polls at any time of year but they do liven debate up as we see above.

Wait a minute. I thought according to experts UCLA was going to drop this week and either usc or Stanford was going to ascend to 1st? Not a very good look for Stanford last night losing to the 49ers in OT at home and giving up 14 g’s. It’s a good thing the refs pulled through and gave them five more ejections to keep it real.

My bad....I wasn't even halfway through my first cup of coffee at 5:30 AM when I wrote that.

I meant to say "Stanford last night ALMOST losing to the 49ers in OT at home and giving up 14 g’s"

Not a lot of talk about Princeton or any east coast team for that matter because human nature is concerned primarily with who's gonna "win" amongst the top three or four. I totally get that. Now, what "would be crazy" is if an Ivy League school could break into the top four. Now "THAT" would be "kinda huge".

In another words only California schools moving up or down is important. Not the why. Got it. Guess it’s that “human nature” thing. In your world Princeton win over Pepperdine shouldn’t be mentioned. What would be “crazy” if you’d understand that was a significant loss for Pepperdine and a big win for Princeton. My bad.
