True. I'm always amazed at how difficult it is to "start" any program, especially when you are dealing with the great retarted State of CA.

Of the people, for the people, by the people. But the people are retarded.

Fantastic news! Go Titans! Curious about coaching, and assume Women will join Big West but men, WWPA? 9 teams already in WWPA. GCC not a good choice,

Did Fullerton have polo in the past and drop it, or is this a totally new program?

Interesting. I assumed it was D1 back then. Ken Lindgren was the coach before he went to LBS and even led them to the NCAA tournament on two occasions.

Here's the thing about that: with CSU Fullerton being a Big West member the number of men's teams that are in the conference with water polo (Long Beach, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, UC Davis) goes up to 6... I would say whichever conference they go to won't make a difference. Ultimately GCC and WWPA will need to figure out what will happen to their leagues without the Big West teams. WWPA is probably fine since they're only 2 Big West teams. GCC is more affected as that's half of their conference.
They have had a history of affiliate members participating in sports not sponsored by their respective school (Sacramento State currently does this with men's soccer and beach volleyball) so who is to say a men's CSU program may express interest?

Re: Cal State Fullerton
Jason Lynch maybe an option for the Fullerton Job as well, at least on the men's side. Be interesting who they pick on the girls side.
It will also be interesting to see if Socal pushes hard to get one of their coaches (possibly Jason Lynch) in at Fullerton. With Klatt/Rowe at UCI, Socal has done a pretty good job, much like Stanford, of trying to vertically integrate from Club to College, especially now that Klatt is the men's coach. Fullerton, would give them another option, at a different price point and competitive level. Just thinking out loud.

Fullerton dropped water polo after the 1985 season. The school has been in D1 for athletics since the 1974-1975 school year.
