If I'm not mistaken isn't this the guy who helped get Chris Ramsey hired as CEO. This hiring shows that Ramsey is more concerned about keeping his 600 thousand dollar contract than keeping our kids safe.

I don't know much about Smith, but I was surprised to see press citing his success growing the sport at the grassroots level. Smith has been involved with founding two clubs in southern Connecticut, but we've not seen much other growth at the club level in the northeast in a long time. If water polo can only survive in the east in prep schools and Connecticut's richest county, we're never going to be a national sport. It's not lack of pools or lack of athletes interested in aquatics. We've got plenty of strong swimming programs. But nobody has ever made an effort to establish new club programs out here.
