2015 NJO

Postby jlweath » Mon Jun 15, 2015 12:04 pm

I have attached a document that I use each year to try and determine the seedings for the NJO for the top 10 teams for all age groups. With several NJO quals completed I have started to fill out the seedings based upon the 2014 top 10 zone finalists. I will update as the various quals are completed to give you an advanced look at the possible top 10 seeds. It is a work in progress. The red entries are zone place holders, as specific teams have not been determined yet.

This is a good idea, thanks for sharing. I usually do this for only 1-2 age groups that I am interested in. I like to expand out to 12 teams, as those top 12 teams will be rebracketed on day 2 with 1, 8, and 9 in one bracket, 2, 7, and 10 in the next bracket, 3, 6, and 11 in the third bracket, and 4, 5,and 12 in the last bracket. I like to see the match ups that the top teams will face early in the tournament, as most likely the top 12 teams won't see much competition on day one.

thanks

I was looking to expand to 12 seeds, but could not find the 2014 NJO results any more on the USAWP website or in their archives. I only had the top 10 seeds. If you or anybody else has that please share. Thanks

Here you go: https://www.dbwebwhim.net/cgi-bin/start ... select.htm

The results can only be found by google search. Not sure why they aren't in the archives yet.

I have added the 11th and 12 seeds to the tables for all age groups. Again red items are not decided as of this date, but I will try to update as the zones report their qual finals.

Jlweath, if you would like to update your doc for the 10U girls, here are the 10 teams entered. There was no qualifier, so I am not sure who would be SOPAC 1,2 3 etc. There were 2 entries from Central, 2 from Coastal and 6 from SOPAC.

1. Davis (Central)
2. American River (Central)
3. Santa Barbara 805 (Coastal)
4. Santa Barbara Premier (Coastal)
5. Laguna Beach "A" (SOPAC)
6. Laguna Beach "B" (SOPAC)
7. SOCAL (SOPAC)
8. Riverside (SOPAC)
9. Back Bay (SOPAC)
10. San Clemente Tritons (SOPAC)

I have updated the projected top 12 seedings based upon input from the coastal and Pacific zones from the June 19-21 tournaments. With the Qual events next week for the SOPAC and Pacific SW zones, it should complete all the projected top 12 seeds for the 2015 NJO tournament. The red text are yet to be determined.

Who is on the 18B SB Pals team? Is it just SB kids or does it include the HW or other LA/OC kids?

Blake Parrish started it with a bunch of kids from ODP. Going to be fun to watch them, see if teams that have been playing together for years can beat this all-star team. Foothill was at 4-4 with them with 1 min left in 3rd quarter but a couple Johnny Hooper leak outs put the lead out to 8-4. Jo's are going to be fun this year.

There is a new team called New York in the SoPac zone qualifier. Anyone know much about them?
