SoCal is the No. 1 seed in the boys' and girls' 16u and 18u divisions. Is this a first or has a club previously accomplished this feat?

That is really, really impressive.

I knew of a time where so cal had generations of boys teams go undefeated for years. This was many years ago !
To have both genders seeded first for jo’s Could be a first time ever for any club ???!!!

jlweath and other JO historians,

I have gone back 10 years and this is the 1st time I can recall that a club has been seeded in the 16/18's for both boys and girls. Socal has not had a strong 18U boys team since 2010. You also have the Socal 14 Girls also seeded 1st this year. I talked to a few Socal coaches last night at Santa Margarita and they could not remember Socal doing this before.

Socal defense was so good, the last 3 games: Vanguard scored only 5 goals, Vanguard Red ( Mater Dei) only 7 goals and Newport 3 goals 2 of them in the last qter

Its quite the compliment to call them All Stars. Especially the ones that arent part of the core whom have played together since 12s.

Newport has more National team players on their team.

But dont let any of that get in the way of a good meme.

SoCal is based at the Foothill HS pool, so there is an affiliation there, but they have kids from all over Orange County and even some from farther away. I believe the 18u team has kids from Foothill, Woodbridge, Servite, Riverside Poly, Palos Verdes, and maybe more?

Yes, more. Last year they had players from Newport and Santa Margarita that eventually ended up at Vanguard. This year they even has a player from Mater Dei.

Yeah, that's why it's so difficult to pick a top 18's team for JO's...so many moving players and parts...you never know who's going to eventually show up for JO's.

Allocations were updated 6/26, I just noticed.
In sum, this is what I noticed:
14UB Mountain moved one seed from classic to invitational; Pacific moved 1 from invitational to classic

16UB Mountain moved one seed from classic to invitational; Coca gained 1 seed in classic (from invitational)
SE moved 1 seed from Championship to Classic; Pacific moved one seed from classic to championship

18UB Mountain moved 1 seed from Championship to Classic; Pacific gained 1 seed to championship from classic
SE moved 1 seed from Classic to Invite; SoPac moved 1 seed from Invite to Classic

On the girls side (there may be more changes to come after CentCa quals this weekend):
16GU *** I believe this is an error on the sheet**
As it stands, Mnt drops 1 invite seed
PacSW moves 1 seed down from Classic to invite
SE moves one seed from Champ to Classic
CoCa gains 2 championship and loses 1 classic.
This leaves 49 Championship teams and 47 Classic.
What appears to have been intended:
Mnt drops 1 invite team
PacSW moves 1 team from Classic to invite
SE moves 1 team from Champ to Classic
CoCa gains a seed in Championship (6), keeps 7 in Classic

Hopefully corrected soon.
