Is West Valley still playing w/ full roster or did the forfeit cost them players?

I had seen in an earlier post that there were multiple brutalities called against West Valley and the officials stopped the game and gave the forfeit. If that is correct, they would be playing without those players who were called for brutalities. I do not know the level of brutality called and how long the players would be out.

They are most likely at full strength today but I don't know this for sure. I know they were down at least one player yesterday for their play-in game against La Jolla...probably two players from their earlier (brutality) forfeiture debacle against LA Premier. Remember a player gets one (1) point for a brutality and only has to miss the next game. Now, if the same player (or any player that gets a brutality at JO's) receives an additional brutality or major misconduct,...they are/will be suspended for a period of two weeks. It's known as "The Points System". Any USAWP athlete who receives two (2) points in any 90 day period shall automatically be suspended as an athlete member. Now with that said, and since certain Croatians in question haven't been around in this country that long and with only one (1) point to their name...West Valley will be at 100 percent going forward. Again, I don't have first hand knowledge of the specifics here...Im just speculating on what I saw yesterday.

The biggest shifts in the younger boys groups (16u and below) are the emergence of Trojan and Greenwich and the disappearance of Stanford. I’d include 680 as a reemergence 14u and below that will be strong for three more cycles plus.

We'll see. Most of the older top 680 players left to play for CCU or Lamo--it's the biggest reason Lamo 18u is doing better than expected.

OC's coach was red carded and there was no one else on the bench.

I updated all the finals. Congratulations to all the teams participating. A lot of great competitive games. As I follow Greenwich, again an outstanding performance from it's teams this year. They got:

- 12U Boys Platinum (Championship) - 7th place
- 14U Boys Platinum (Championship) - 6th place
- 16U Boys Platinum (Championship) - 6th place
- 18u Boys Gold (Championship) - 1st place

Thanks jlweath for keeping us on this board up to speed by organizing the results in an easy to read fashion. I agree it’s nice to see Greenwich have such outstanding results in several different age groups. Hope to see them in a JO final one of these years, it’s so good for the sport.

In 14U, their group got a brutal draw on day 2 but were able to battle back and actually gave 680 a really close game after getting blown out by that same 680 team on day 2.

I’ve also been following that 680 team all year in 14U and it was tough to see them get handled by Newport in the final. They looked tired and couldn’t get their counter attack going. In the end, the center play and outside shooting from Newport was too much for 680.

I was on the deck at the time packing up from previous games. It occurred very early in the 1st quarter, likely 2-2 1/2 minutes into the game. Newport was up 2-0. I did not see the play or the call that sparked the incident, but I did see the OCWPC coach arguing with the official and the ref pulling the red card. The OCWPC coach continued to argue and the ref repeatedly asked him to leave the facility. The coach then ordered his boys out of the pool and that was it. I am assuming OCWPC did not have an assistant on the bench, resulting in the forfeit.
The unfortunate victims in this were the players, assuming they wanted to battle for the #5 spot in the tournament. There were also 10-12 college coaches on deck, so the boys lost out on some great exposure. The game was very well attended – the stands at Foothill HS were pretty full so I’m sure it was a bitter ending for all.
