After getting the CCA zone qual finals here is my attempt to project the top 24 Championship group seedings (some groups did not had 24 entries in 2019, so I only did up to the 2019 number). I have had to match together a lot of information from many sources this year to try and get the top 24 projections, so I may have made some mistakes. Please let me know. It was a challenging task this year to say the least. I have attached the PDF files for Session 1 and Session 2 groups.

So from the 48 teams in 14u girls. Only 24 go to the championship division the other 24 to the classic?

Looks like you made an error on 14ub. Lamo occupies CCA1 as well as PAC3, so all the cca teams on the top row move up one, foothill takes a top seed, rose bowl and midvalley move up and sb 805 takes the 23 seed

At least that's what i have. Thanks a ton for compiling these though!!

I don't think so. These are just the top half of each bracket. There are bound to be upsets on day 1 that shake tthings up though.

After day 1 there will be 24 in Platinum, 24 in Gold, and 24 in Classic/Silver, assuming they stick to 24 team Classic divisions.

I thought some would be interested in some statistics for the number of NJO Qual teams from 2019 to 2021 for the 5 CA zones for session 1/2. I have tried my best to compile the most current/accurate numbers by age group/zone for 2019 and 2021 to do this. I again have had to go back to 2019 and may have missed some teams as the data is in many places, shapes and forms. My findings/comments:

- There were a little over 100 less Qual teams in 2021 than in 2019
- CA Qual teams dropped from 739 (2019) to 637 (2021)
- The 10U mixed, 10U girl, 12U mixed seemed to have grown somewhat between 2019/2021 for Qual teams
- The 12U G/B, 14UG/B seemed to have some of the larger losses from 2019/2021 of Qual teams
- The 16UG/B also seemed to have experienced larger losses from 2019/2021 of Qual teams
- The 18UG seem to no losses while the 18UB had less than 10% loss for the for Qual teams.

Before is my summary PDF file

This analysis is an eye opener

Hopefully the USA women win the Olympics this year again, and the men get a good showing also, and maybe help kick start our sport over the next few years. A high school coach recently told me, that in talking to other High school WP coaches, the numbers are down in high school waterpolo overall from a couple years ago, and the trend has been downward a bit even before Covid. There are so many other club sports out there, that competition for kids is fierce. Club soccer and Club Volleyball has exploded in the last few years, specially on the girls side, and those sports are just easier to get started in.They don't seem as overwhelming for kids that have never played. It's lot easier to go run around a soccer field and try out the sport, than to go jump in an outdoor pool, at a night practice, in the month of January.
Covid certainly did not help/ Some WP clubs folded and now we have a few (SOCAL, SET, Vanguard, 805 ect ect) Super Clubs. Same thing probably happening in other regions. It's not good for the sport. We need more parity and balance.

yes, per USAWP

Championship Division

The Championship Division is an elite tournament with the top teams from each zone qualifying. This division will offer big courses, longer quarters and a competitive National Championship atmosphere. As the tournament progresses, teams will be divided into two sub-divisions, platinum and gold.

Thanks for the check. I have updated the 14 Boys, moved them all up and added SB 805 as the Coastal 7th seed.

In 14U boys, Newport B vs. Lamorinda should be a great/close game in pool play as should Del Mar v. Lamo and SF Warriors v 680 in the 16U boys tourney. What a blast it is to have JOs back.

18U Girls - I noticed an error for PAC Zone:
1. Stanford (correct)
2. LAMO (correct)
3. 680 (correct)
4. Diablo (missing for the 16th seed)

Note: LAMO a beating #1 seed 680, in the semis, was an upset so it will be interesting to watch this group at JO’s.
