Editorial Comment:

Chris Dorst is an Olympian... and (I assume, and if incorrect, shame on them) a member of the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame, a (I assume, and if incorrect, shame on them) a member of the USAWP Hall of Fame, a successful coach, a successful referee, and one of the GREATEST credits to this sport ANY of us could have.

Yes, he was (is?) a goaltender, but we all need to make accommodations for the handicapped...

:D

OK, seriously again... anyone who grumped about Chris's performance over the weekend needs to apologize, in public. I know Chris. He arrives a day in advance, with rosters, with season-long statistics, scouts the players, works through the pronunciations, and is prepared for coach tactics. THEN you put him at a desk, at 5,000 foot altitude (that's what happens when the announcer is from Stanford but the host is Cal... :D ), forced to look through the FOG, and wonder why (every once in a while) he might have missed a name?

Oh puhlease...

I don't know who is the second best audio/video proponent of our sport... but whoever he is (and my money is on Mark Cousineau), he is not even close... (sorry Mark, and I LOVE you Mark).

The next one of you who grumps about Chris's performance, well... let's just say, I was roped into a similar job a few years ago... fortunately, Mark carried me... had it not been for Mark carrying me, I would have been even more publicly ridiculous than I am now.

Really... ALL of you... applaud Chris Dorst for his willingness to do what he does, VERY well, and VERY professionally.

REALLY.

It is great to have a past great polo player announce the games. He is great. It is not easy and a person should try to do it before they say anything. I have had to announce games before and I was a goofball if you look back at the games I did. It is hard and he did a good job. It is easy to comment from a keyboard. Should I repeat "great" one more time? This guy helps polo!

Thanks!
