Fina world super finals France

What the hell. The USA is the most unmotivated team there is. It’s was embarrassing today in the loss to France. I’m against popular vote to keep experienced players when they truly play like they did today. Dodd was the only one hustling for all the other slack ass players who have established themselves on the team. I don’t care who you play for in Europe or who your dad is you need to play with passion and heart. Maybe it’s the good living in the great USA that makes them think it’s no big deal. Dejan needs to have a serious talk to these slackers and if they don’t like it send em packing. Play some defense for change. Let’s bring in some 19-21 year old hungry kids and feed them raw meat instead of a bunch of lazy established players that don’t care. Without competition for your spot you feel like you can ride the train for free. And our savior Hallock missing the first penalty shot was the capper.

Except for the womens side USA water polo is a train wreck. Two weeks ago we lost to Brazil on home soil in Pan Ams, so why would expect anything different on the senior team.

Your trying compare apples to oranges. The 16-17 year olds were playing against older players. The senior national team is getting paid to perform. When you take money you better put out you best effort or get out.

FINA world super finals is a nice tournament but it is far less important than the worlds championship. France lost to Italy by one goal on Day 2, so what? We should not rush to judgement based on the Day 1.

 It's called a monumental "train wreak"....but let's put flowers on it instead. ;-) When was the last time USA lost to France? Umm. I think this is a first time ever. But yea....please donate money to USA Senior National Team...they really could use our support.

Lol we just beat Italy by 4 to win the group. Can you all stop overreacting to every game we lose and then ignoring the ones we win. In water polo the majority of the teams are very competitive with each other. Just look at Italy 7th at the Olympics and then silver at the worlds.

Well said re the win over Italy. First game vs France after a 12-14 hour west to east plain flight which is always an overnight one. Jet lag is hard for the first 2-3 days in Europe. Some of us have done it many many times. Predictable that they would be flat, tired, and a little off in game 1. Excellent vs Italy today, this team keeps getting better.

Plus playing the “home team”.

I like this team - I think they are playing hard and are committed. Growth may be slow, but I am appreciating where they are versus some poor showings over the past several years. Sure we all wish they could be the best, but enjoy them for what they are.

Italy did not take their two biggest stars to France. Imagine USA without Bowen and ( since we do not have a superstar lefty) say Hallock.

Nice to see a USA men's national team attacking mistakes with counter attacks often. Needs to always be an essential element of our approach.

USA barely gets the win against a good Australia team. Looks like we got lucky and are playing the Montenegro / France winner in the semis with Spain/Italy are the other semi match up.

France also played a one goal with Italy, who just beat Spain in the first semi. Maybe France is just better than they've been in a while.

I've got to think the US is lucky to be facing Italy and not Spain if they beat France in the second semi. Looking forward to the France game this afternoon.

Nice first quarter. Big difference between jet lagged usa and late tourney usa. So far at least

Indeed.

2nd quarter not so much. US lucky to still have a 2 goal lead.

What was the red card (on French player, I think?) at the end of the 2nd?
