No class at all! (But not surprised with this group of young men.) I'm sure the joy of hard work and committment is lost (or meaningless) on the CB Team... but enjoy your wins.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. Are you questioning hard work and commitment to the game of water polo for the CB young men?
Yes, they worked hard for many years to be who they are.

This is NJO 18U !!!!!!! If you want your kids to get participation ribbons, join the rec league, I heard its pretty "classy" there :)

You sure seem connected to the Cozy Boys, even though you’ve denied being an Oaks Christian guy. You are a Ventura high school water polo fan like you said right? When are you going to fess up?

What is more humiliating for an athlete, not being able to stop a superior skilled athlete/team? Or not being able to stop a superior skilled athlete/team who is not playing their hardest/trying?

I understand the negative view point of running up scores, been on both sides of it.... But seeing where US polo currently stacks up against the rest of the world in polo, who dont seem to care for pulling back or running the game out, maybe US teams should stop worrying about other teams running up scores, and start focusing on the development of their athletes and programs. Use it as motivation, especially at the older age groups...

Like in all the age groups, some of the teams not in the top 12 after day 1 are now making their move to get into the top 12. In the 16U's, two of those teams are PVA (took out Del Mar) and AETOS (took out San Jose), as they are now in the 9-12 semis. That is what I like about the NJO's, to be able to work hard and come back after a loss.

Have the match-ups for the 12/16U for 1-4:

12U Boys
1st - Vanguard vs Newport
3rd - SD Shores vs Rose Bowl

16U Boys:
1st - Socal vs CC United
3rd - Pride vs SD Shores

For the 16's, I think the two best teams met in the semis (Socal/Pride). This group of Socal kids have accomplished quite a bit, they are going to their 5 straight championship game:
- 2014 - 12U 2nd place
- 2015 - 12U 1st place
- 2016 - 14U 2nd place
- 2017 - 14U 1st place
- 2018 - 16U 1st place

16U
Socal 3 CC United 3 at half
Socal 7-4 in the third
Socal over CC United 9-6

UCB over Stanford 8-7 - Stanford had the lead in the fourth, 6-5. Had several chances to tie it with a minute or two left, including a 6 on 4, but fell just short. UCB scored with one second left to make it 9-7.

I saw that the Cozy Boys shared the podium with Dynamo Polo club after they received their gold medals. All the players from both teams were celebrating and congratulating each other on a great tournament. Very Classy.

VERY CLASSY INDEED and what an image it was. The Dynamo team came to at least one other game to watch UCB play and then again for the Finals. Seeing them on the podium and as excited (maybe even more) as the UCB's is the kind of thing that should come-out of events like this. They were thrilled they got to fly-out to CA, play the eventual Champions in the highest-possible division AND they got "played with respect" if you understand what I'm getting at; not having a team whipping the ball around the pool, taunting them, then dumping the ball. They enjoyed the experience. Enough with the BS comments about "running-up of the score".

I watched the game, but didn't stay for the medals - honestly nobody was cheering for the Cozy Boys from what I saw. If that is true, I wish we had. That is true class and sportsmanship, and I am very impressed. Wish all the boys watching had stayed to see that too.

It's a lesson to us all, congrats to Cozy Boys!
